October 26, 2018 News

A.I.CKATHON is back for its second year.

The signature Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hackathon in Malaysia is a 48-hour student-oriented hackathon. Supported by MDEC and commercial companies like Dell EMC, the event aims to promote the latest tools and technologies for AI development with academic and industrial AI mentorship.

Happening from November 16th to the 18th, the University of Malaya organised event and co-organised by Iskandar Investment Berhad, will see 60 teams of students and tech enthusiasts from local universities come together for the hackathon. Students from universities in the Southeast Asia region are invited to join in as well.

The teams will consist from three to five students with the entire project being completed during the program. Teams will be made up of AI and data techies as well as designers and business development minds.

This year, they will learn about the current state of the art tech in Artificial Intelligence and its disruption towards Smart Retail and Smart City in the future.

Technology partner Dell EMC will be supporting the students by helping and mentoring them in developing AI applications. Dell hopes this will trigger the bright minds to discover new business ideas and come up with problem-solving solutions.

The 48-hour event will be held at Iskandar Space, located in Iskandar Malaysia, the southern economic growth corridor city in Johor. The 8,000 square feet co-working space is the largest co-working centre in Iskandar Malaysia.

Big Community will be covering the hackathon exclusively as the students spend the long weekend hacking their way to glory.
