Malaysia’s leading employee healthcare and wellness benefits management platform, HealthMetrics, announces its new e-pharmacy service and enhanced in-patient module. These services aim to further provide the Malaysian workforce with more comprehensive, easily accessible healthcare solutions that align with the country’s accelerated adoption of digital processes.
Digital Healthcare: Contactless Solutions to Safeguard Employee Health
Over the last year, COVID-19 has strengthened the foundation of digital healthcare in addition to accelerating the adoption of contactless deliveries and courier services globally. Once a fairly new concept in Malaysia, with most people preferring in-person visits to their healthcare providers or their local pharmacies, contactless delivery for medical prescriptions is now growing, with quite a few telehealth players emerging regionally. Despite potential restrictions, this shift in healthcare has its benefits, including saving time and cost, not to mention safeguarding the community through continued social distancing.
In light of this, HealthMetrics’ e-pharmacy service, also called the long-term medication (LTM) module, was designed to ensure that employees can have all their medical prescriptions fulfilled by their company’s approved healthcare provider and delivered right to their doorsteps in a contactless setting. All employees would have to do is submit their prescriptions via the HealthMetrics app to be processed by the nearest healthcare provider. Once approved, the prescription will be filled, and the medication will be delivered to the patient. As the HealthMetrics platform also manages medical claims on behalf of Human Resources (HR) teams, all prescription claims will be automatically submitted in real-time via the app once employees pay for and receive their medication.
“We are proud to have established ourselves as an industry leader in outpatient care and corporate healthcare management over the years. Now, with the introduction of our new features, we’re excited to champion the next evolution of corporate healthcare in Malaysia. Our LTM and enhanced in-patient modules were designed in response to not only the current situation caused by the global pandemic but also to lead the charge in helping employers deliver innovative and revolutionary healthcare solutions to their employees. We intend for our platform to ensure that the Malaysian workforce and eventually, that of the region, will have access to comprehensive and holistic healthcare solutions that are future-proof,” said Alvin Yuan, Chief Executive Officer of HealthMetrics.
Comprehensive Enhancements to Benefit All Parties in Corporate Healthcare
As COVID-19 continues to accelerate change within organisations, the workforce is constantly facing rapid shifts and new realities amidst frequent health scares, not to mention anxiety caused by uncertainties. In these unprecedented times, HR teams have been elevated to become one of the most greatly needed departments across industries. Responsible for employee well-being, efficient workflows, and overall company morale, HR teams require tools that can support them in carrying out their roles efficiently and effectively.
As such, HealthMetrics’ enhanced in-patient module ensures that when an employee is hospitalised, all parties involved – the employee, the employer, and the healthcare provider – are able to access real-time updates and be kept informed at every level. During hospitalisation, employees will be able to seamlessly access their allocated healthcare benefits without having to worry about manually submitting medical claims or checking with their HR teams to confirm what their corporate healthcare plans entail. Meanwhile, employers and HR teams will be able to monitor the progress and recovery of their employees in real-time without having to request constant updates. Finally, healthcare providers will be able to treat their corporate patients effectively without the hassle of requesting insurance cards or even physical identification. The HealthMetrics platform ensures that all paperwork is streamlined and automated, thus saving time and cost while providing peace of mind to all parties.
Moreover, the HealthMetrics platform corporate members companion app has been upgraded to a Progressive Web App (PWA), a one-size-fits-all solution enabling them to access all platform features from any device. In addition, HealthMetrics will be introducing an API gateway that can be integrated with existing HRIS systems. This means that they will be able to use HealthMetrics tools on an HR system that they are already familiar with, thus ensuring a convenient and user-friendly onboarding process. Being newly ISO 27001-certified by TÜV Austria Deutschland, HealthMetrics is also compliant with the highest international information requirements and standards, thus ensuring that all data stored on its platform is protected to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
