GPU-powered analytics leader MapD Technologies announced that it is teaming up with NVIDIA and Pure Storage to bring a complete packaged solution to unlock the power of big data analytics. This packaged solution extends the ability to organizations, regardless of size, to leverage GPU parallel processing of their data using the MapD analytics platform within a data-centric architecture.

The initiative helps to fulfill part of MapD’s mission, which is to make big data analytics instant, powerful, and effortless for everyone. This collaboration integrates MapD’s extreme analytics platform with the industry’s first data hub by Pure Storage, that is specifically designed to unify and share, rather than simply store data, along with AIRI™, a converged infrastructure driven by Pure Storage and NVIDIA. AIRI combines the NVIDIA DGX-1™ AI supercomputer with Pure Storage FlashBlade technology. This solution gives enterprises the ability to deploy a tested, all-in-one architecture solution to process analytics for very large datasets in milliseconds.

“At MapD, we understand that enterprises need systems that process and store a rapidly growing amount of data. But this is for nothing if they cannot analyze it efficiently and quickly to make faster, better decisions,” says Ashish Bambroo VP of Business Development, MapD. “Teaming up with NVIDIA and Pure Storage provides customers with a scalable architecture for analytics and deep learning in a ready-to-deploy, low-cost solution.”

“Data drives modern analytics and AI, yet enterprises are often overwhelmed by the volume and velocity of data,” according to Katie Colbert, VP of Alliances, Pure Storage.  “The integration of MapD with AIRI, powered by Pure’s data hub architecture, enables enterprises to interactively analyze data in real-time for their largest, most mission-critical datasets. This joint solution is effortless to deploy and use, and allows customers to accelerate insights from day one.”

“MapD understands the need for enterprises to extract actionable value from the massive amounts of data they are capturing,” said Jim McHugh, vice president and general manager of Deep Learning Systems at NVIDIA. “The combination of Pure Storage with MapD’s immersive visual analytics and powerful GPU-based SQL query engine brings the ability to explore, discover and create valued insights that allow for intelligent, split-second decisions.”

According to the 2017 Big Data Analytics Market Study, conducted by Dresner Advisory Services, “Fifty-three percent of companies are using big data analytics today, up from seventeen percent in 2015.” The report also cited that reporting, dashboards, advanced visualization end-user “self-service” and data warehousing are the top five technologies and initiatives strategic to business intelligence.
