Nodeflux, Indonesia’s First and Largest Vision AI Company to Immerse Global Recognition at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festival 2019

Indonesia-based artificial intelligence (AI) start-up, Nodeflux, unveiled as the Indonesian delegate to participate at the world’s top prestigious event, South by Southwest (SXSW) in TexasUnited States, on March 10-13, 2019. During the 3-days event, they will demonstrate a new breakthrough in high-tech Indonesian puppet creation, which combined with face recognition features to give unprecedented experiences for all visitors. The technology will detect visitors’ faces and develop automatic identification to over 60 Indonesian puppet characters, including Semar, Gatotkaca and Puntadewa.

This participation is especially impressive as it was honored by BEKRAF to be the shortlisted Indonesian delegate at the Archipelageek 2019 in United States. The Archipelageek itself was derived from Indonesian philosophy as the largest archipelago in the world (archipelageek state). From the Archipelageek concept, it is expected to continuously build Indonesia as the new icon and front-runner in the digital revolution and platform.

The Indonesia’s participation in SXSW has started in 2017. Entitled “Archipelageek, Reach the Global Market”, all Indonesian delegates at the SXSW Festival 2019 will get a chance to learn more about new markets in the United States while expanding new business sustainability on a global scale.

“We are highly grateful for this achievement. Through this participation, we expect more parties to be aware about Nodeflux, and to bring out our contribution in Nodeflux that we’re actually a new frontier for AI-based IVA technology producer. We even compete with high-developed countries, such as ChinaIsrael, the United Kingdom and the United States,” said Meidy Fitranto, CEO of Nodeflux.

As a part of the most exciting breakthroughs, Nodeflux now collaborates with the Indonesian National Police (POLRI) and the Department of Population and Civil Registration (DISDUKCAPIL) to implement IVA technology by their authorizations and under an official agreement. The technology is directly connected to CCTV cameras in Jakarta and Bandung, underpinning easier city management for smart cities.

The facial recognition and deep learning will extract the large database from POLRI and DISDUKCAPIL to recognize any person and object captured from CCTV cameras with maximum accuracy. The real-time analysis and monitor in the platform will allow users to gather and analyze data with accurate results to resolve a variety of public safety challenges and streamline the city management process, as well as to reduce the flow or traffic on site.

From the CCTV’s video streams, the Indonesian-made IVA technology will proceed the information to uncover new beneficial insights and patterns. Additionally, this platform is able to interpret images, such as classifying people through facial recognition, detecting object and plate, forecasting population density and analyzing behaviors in the public domain.

“With the role to lead the product and technological advancement made by Indonesian engineers, we invite all Indonesian living overseas to rededicate themselves and be part of this new positive impact in AI and technology. We also aim to educate them, as we see high potential from these people to fill in the AI positions gap,” said Faris Rahman, CTO of Nodeflux.

With its presence in Indonesia, Nodeflux will conquer all sectors in the country to put in place data accuracy of any decision making for a better quality of life and community. A solid multi-disciplinary collaboration is certainly a key to this success. Thus, since 2018, Nodeflux has been appointed to collaborate with the National Police to ensure the security and defense during the Asian Games 2018 and IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting 2018. In addition, Nodeflux has raised undisclosed amount of funding from East VentureTelkom, and Prasetia Dwidharma.
