ZE Deploys Cloud Infrastructure to Mobilize Client Data and Analytics

ZE PowerGroup Inc. (ZE), the global leader in enterprise data management today announced its deployment of a cloud infrastructure built on IBM storage solutions to effectively provide its clients with access to rich data, insights and analytics. The advanced ZE Cloud offering uses IBM FlashSystem® storage solutions, which has provided the storage speed and flexibility needed to power ZEMA platform-as-a-service.

Since deploying IBM FlashSystem, ZE Cloud’s performance has experienced significant improvements to accelerate the performance, reduce latency and cut maintenance costs associated with its data management. Comparing previous disk-based storage to its all-flash storage system, ZE has sped the availability of data within massive client databases by more than 98 percent.

Aiman El-Ramly, Chief Strategy Officer states, “Our clients need fast access to data and analytics on short notice, it was important that we create a storage architecture that was both capable of providing high speed processing and able to dynamically prioritize high-importance requests when they arrive. The IBM solution ticked all of these boxes, and more.”

“ZE and IBM have successfully addressed ever growing, ever changing big data challenges faced by ZE clients. Leveraging IBM Flash Storage solutions, ZE has been able to quickly and efficiently optimize infrastructure to offer leading availability, reliability and performance to ZE Cloud clients. Looking to the future as ZE moves to a Platform as a Service model, IBM is dedicated to providing best in class infrastructure to grow and expand the ZE Cloud,” said Marshall St. Louis, GM, IBM Systems Canada.

“IBM really helped us understand how we could leverage flash technology as a catalyst to transform our business. Having successfully implemented IBM technology in the past, we knew IBM could be trusted to offer a solution tailored to our needs and our clients’ needs,” said Nader El-Ramly, Chief Product Officer, ZE PowerGroup.

ZE’s flagship solution, ZEMA aggregates an unmatched amount of commodity and energy data from the world’s largest catalogue of over 800 unique provides and over 8500 data reports. With access to ZE’s extensive global data library, ZEMA enables traders, risk managers, and business analysts working in the energy and commodities markets worldwide to perform collaborative analysis that goes well beyond the scope of traditional data management systems. Moreover, ZEMA is designed to integrate data and analysis seamlessly with third-party downstream systems including ERP, ETRM, and BI Tools, along with more recently feeding market data into clients’ big data lakes, such as Hadoop.
